This special live discussion will spotlight one of Britain’s most respected and enduring voices in broadcasting, celebrating a remarkable 35-year career that has shaped the UK radio landscape.
In 1992, Angie Greaves made history as the only Black female BreakfastDJ on London's Choice FM radio, breaking barriers and redefining representation in British media. From her early days at Choice FM to Magic and now Smooth Radio, where she reaches 3.2 million weekly listeners (12 million monthly listeners), Angie has built a career defined by excellence, authenticity, and resilience. Today, she stands as one of the longest-standing female radio presenters in the UK.
Across more than three decades, Angie has interviewed some of the world’s most recognisable names, including Mariah Carey, John Legend, Vanessa Williams, Katie Piper, Kerry Washington, Kelly Holmes, Gok Wan, Austin Butler, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Debbie Sledge, Shalamar, and Karren Brady, among many others. Her influence extends beyond radio, having worked with major broadcasters and brands including Channel 4, SKY, BBC, and Disney, as well as fronting commercial campaigns for Holland & Barrett, No7, Wickes, Azio Beauty, and more, cementing her status as a trusted and recognisable household name.
This International Women’s Day conversation will explore how Angie has sustained longevity in a competitive and ever-evolving industry, how she has navigated race and gender barriers in British broadcasting, and how she has continuously reinvented herself across decades of media transformation. The discussion will offer insight into the mindset, discipline, and resilience required to build a career that lasts, while providing inspiration and practical advice for the next generation of women in media.
International Women’s Day 2026 is a moment to celebrate not only achievement but endurance. Angie Greaves’ story is one of persistence, evolution, and cultural impact, offering a blueprint for women building legacies across industries. Hosted at the House of MOBO and presented by Angie Greaves and BELEVE, the event will bring together creatives, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and emerging talent for an inspiring and powerful discussion on leadership, longevity, and legacy.
