Author talk with André Alexis to discuss his works

Join author André Alexis in conversation with Jamaal Amir Akbari. The focus of their discussion will be on André’s book Fifteen Dogs and his latest short story collection, Other Worlds, and the themes surrounding these books. André will also talk about his relationship to Ottawa and how it has changed over the years.

Q&A with the audience and autograph session to follow. Bring your own copy or purchase one on site.

Light refreshments and conversation to follow.

Our friends from The Spaniel’s Tale bookstore will be on hand selling André’s books.

About André Alexis

André Alexis was born in Trinidad and grew up in Canada. He is the author of A Quincunx, comprised of five novels: Fifteen Dogs, winner of the Giller Prize, CBC Canada Reads and the Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize; Days by Moonlight, winner of the Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize; Pastoral; The Hidden Keys; and Ring. His debut novel, Childhood, won the Books in Canada First Novel and the Trillium Book Award, and was shortlisted for the Giller Prize and the Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize. His other books include Asylum, The Night Piece, Despair and Other Stories of Ottawa and most recently Other Worlds, longlisted for the Toronto Book Award. He is the recipient of a Windham-Campbell Prize. He lives in Toronto.

L’auteur

Né à Trinidad, André Alexis a grandi au Canada.
