About this Event

Birthing While Black: A 6-Week Hybrid Prenatal Class

Preparing for birth is about more than learning the stages of labour — it’s about understanding your options, strengthening your voice, and feeling supported every step of the way.

Join us for Birthing While Black, a 6-week hybrid prenatal class created to meet the unique needs of Black families navigating pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. The curriculum for this course was created by Ancestral Hands Midwives, leaders in Black-led, culturally grounded midwifery care.

This course offers a supportive, affirming space to learn, ask questions, and prepare with confidence — alongside other Black families.

Hosted By Rooted Birthwork Collective

A Black-led collective providing full spectrum doula support to Black families in the Ottawa–Gatineau region through community-centered, culturally affirming care.
