Understanding how a 4-day week is implemented and what it might mean for your organisation.
About this Event

Join us for a panel discussion on the benefits, implementation strategy and likely challenges regarding the adoption of a four day working week in the charity sector. Whether you're a leader within your organisation looking to understand how these changes can be rolled out, or workers wanting additional information to make proposals to management, this panel discussion will cover everything you need to know.

Who's On The Panel

Joe Ryle (Campaign Director at The 4 Day Week Campaign), bringing his wealth of knowledge on how organisations are making it happen.

Gary Conroy (Managing Director of 5 Squirrels), a local Brighton SME who have already rolled out a four day week model.

Dr. Charlotte Rae (Founder, Sussex 4 Day Week), who supports employers trialling a 4 day working week and measures the impact on the mind, brain and body of staff.

The panel will be Chaired by Hannah Allbrooke (Head of Fundraising & Marketing at Amaze), whose experience spans the charity and public sectors in Brighton and beyond.

We will also have a fourth pannelist from a national charity who will bring their experience implementing the four day week in the third sector.

The panel will start at 2:30pm sharp so if you can please arrive 10 minutes before that will help us keep everything running to schedule.

Who Are The 4 Day Week Campaign

In the UK, we work some of the longest hours in Europe while having one of the least productive economies. The 4 Day Week Campaign is the UK’s official national initiative for a four-day working week. They advocate a four-day, 32 hour working week with no loss of pay for employees. You can find out more about what they do here.

Alternative Models

Here at Community Base we want to hold discussions that explore and interrogate the way we work in the third sector. The upcoming Alternative Models series is an attempt to create a space in which we can do that.
