Three-day actor training with Antonia Cezara Cioaza & Jakob Nielsen (Odin Teatret).
For three days in Berlin, actors and will share their training “Imagining with the Body Mind”, developed together with director since 2022. The work focuses on the pre-expressive level of acting: energy, rhythm, balance and presence before a character or a story appear.
About the training
Through intensive physical exercises the participants will explore:
- energy in time and energy in space
- dynamics of oppositions and balance
- segmentation of the body
- organicity and extra-daily behaviour
- composition through different ways of walking and dancing
The training is built as a laboratory: each exercise opens a space for imagination and personal associations. Participants work on their stage presence, precision and availability – how the body can think, react and create before the intellect “explains” what is happening.
The workshop will also include space for reflection and discussion, and optional evening screenings of Odin Teatret work, depending on the needs of the group.

This workshop is designed for:
- actors/actresses
- performers and dancers (contemporary, experimental, body-based practices)
- directors and acting / movement teachers who collect tools for working with performers
- students of theatre and dance schools
- practitioners of bodywork, somatics, yoga who are moving towards performance
- anyone interested in Odin Teatret / Eugenio Barba’s tradition and actor’s craft
A previous experience with acting or body-based performance is recommended, but you do not need to be a “perfectly trained” professional.

About the trainers
and are actors of (Holstebro, Denmark). Together with director they have been developing the training “Imagining with the Body Mind” since January 2022, as part of their continuous research on theatre anthropology and the craft of the actor.
The Berlin workshop is organised by , theatre director and facilitator based in Berlin.
