Please join us for Image Readings – a monthly community gathering for image makers to share and discuss ongoing bodies of work for feedback and engagement. This month’s meeting is hosted by artist, Bex McCharen.
Space is limited, RSVP required. For those who RSVP to share work, you should plan to bring prints to share on a table or digitially to be shared on a screen.
This is a pay-what-you-can event and free for WOPHA Members (enter code at checkout).
All donations help sustain WOPHA’s year-round programming.

About Bex McCharen
Bex McCharen (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist, fashion designer and founder of the inclusive fashion label Chromat. They studied at the University of Virginia School of Architecture and are based in Miami, FL.
McCharen was awarded the Smithsonian National Design Award, was recognized in Forbes 30 under 30 and the OUT 100 as one of the LGBTQ’s communities’ brightest voices. Their work has been profiled in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Vogue. Collaborations include Beyoncé, Intel, Disney and Reebok.
They gave a TED Talk on inclusive design, curated ‘Queer Joy’ at MoMA PS1 and their work is in the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They recently debuted their quilting, cyanotype and photography work in a solo booth at Untitled Art Fair in Miami with Dot51 Gallery and Oolite Arts, where they are currently an artist in residence.
