Join the Social Work Award 2024 Winners, the Anti-Racist Movement (A.R.M.) for their Annual National Conference and 2nd Anniversary Celebratory Event.

Our theme this year is ICU or 'I See You’.

Get ready to immerse yourself in discussions with others and engage in workshops and action planning that promotes Collective Healing and Rest in Social Work Practice, Leadership and Education.

The phrase "ICU or I See You" serves as our guiding theme for this conference. It reminds us that the fight against racism is urgent and critical, requiring us to truly see each other and act with deliberate and intensive care.

This conference aims to leave you feeling;

Inspired, Invigorated and Informed

In a world where systemic racism continues to violently impact lives and communities, we aim to bring leaders, activists, scholars and advocates together in a space where we will share insights, strategies, and stories of resilience.

What to Expect:

Keynote Speaker: Hear from a renowned thought leader who has dedicated her life to fighting racism and pursuing equity. Dr Agnes Bryan is an Adult Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. She also works independently as an Organisation and Management Consultant and Executive Coach. She formerly worked at the Tavistock and Portman Trust as a clinician and Associate Dean of Education and Training.

There will be interactive workshops facilitated by members of A.R.M focusing on the role of being a Black Anti-Racist Trainers, Racism and the NQSW/Student experience, Anti-Racist Writing and the role of Men in the Movement and a workshop on 'Allyship' for those not directly affected by racism. Wrapped up by a 'Feed your Soul' Healing Space held by A.R.M's resident therapist & Ubuntu coach, Maria Takaendisa.
