An intimate evening of music, a traditional Huni Kuin hapé circle, and an optional jewellery workshop in Brighton.
About this Event

We’re honoured to welcome our friends from the Huni Kuin tradition for a rare evening hof music, prayer and connection. From Chico Curumim village we welcome the chief Tamani (very rare to have a female chief) alongside her sister Yaka and son Shane.

For those that want to create their own traditional ring, the gathering begins with a small, intimate jewellery making workshop (20 people), followed by an evening of music, prayer and connection, and a traditional hapé circle.

The limited capacity offers a rare chance to sit closely, create, and spend time together before we open into the wider evening. The jewellery making is only valid with the correct ticket!

The evening will then continue with songs, prayers and shared presence with the Huni Kuin, carrying the spirit of the forest into the space.

What the evening includes

Jewellery making workshop (limited to 20 places)

Huni Kuin music, prayer and cultural sharing.

Hapé circle

Yaka is a co-founder of the MAHKU (Movimento dos Artistas Huni Kuin) collective and part of Kayatibu, sharing both music and artwork from the tradition. A selection of MAHKU artwork will be on display during the evening.

Listen to some of the music from the Kaytibu / Chico Curumim collective here.

This is open to everyone.

No experience is needed, just come with respect and an open heart.
