HPC for Research

The HPC for Research on AWS event brings together researchers, scientists, and research IT leaders to explore how cloud-based High Performance Computing (HPC) can accelerate scientific discovery across domains such as engineering, life sciences, energy, and earth sciences. As research datasets continue to grow and computational models become more complex, cloud-enabled HPC allows institutions to scale resources on demand, run large-scale simulations, and process data-intensive workloads without the constraints of traditional on-premises infrastructure. Through expert presentations and real-world demonstrations, participants will see showcase examples of HPC applied to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for engineering simulations, molecular modeling for drug discovery and materials science, and seismic processing for subsurface imaging and energy exploration. The session will also highlight how modern workflow tools such as Kiro can simplify the setup and management of complex research pipelines, improve reproducibility, and help research teams move faster from experimentation to meaningful discovery.
