Learn strategies for incorporating music and movement in your classroom. Experience creative ways to inspire your students in any discipline using drama, music, literature, visual art and movement. Learn how to create structures (simple chants, songs or movement sequences) to reinforce and develop your curriculum, while appealing to all styles of learning. Recall a math formula, count by 2’s, reinforce the water cycle, remember a story—and MORE!
Presenter Bios:
Sarah Inouye Mano has bachelor's and master's degrees in piano performance and is a nationally certified piano teacher through Music Teachers National Association. As a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), Sarah teaches early childhood music and movement classes and presents at local and national conferences. As a past president of the Utah State Orff Chapter, she continues to serve on the board to help organize and present teacher workshops for elementary education across Utah. She currently performs with Inouye Six Hands and is working on a project to research, perform, and teach the unique genre of six-hand repertoire to students and teachers.
Mika Inouye is a performing artist and educator in Durango, Colorado, USA. She dances with 20MOONS Dance Theater and teaches inclusive creative dance classes and K-6 music and movement for Durango Public Schools. She is the movement instructor at Orff Schulwerk levels courses in Los Angeles County and at Old Dominion University. Mika is the founding president of the Four Corners Orff Chapter and has presented at AOSA national conferences and other conferences in the United States, New Zealand, Kuwait, Hong Kong and the Czech Republic. She performs regularly as a pianist and harpsichordist with the San Juan Symphony series and with Inouye Six Hands.

This workshop is open to classroom teachers, university students, arts educators, and school administrators.
