About this Event
It makes sense that your trans body feels unsafe right now.
There’s much rhetoric, sweeping executive orders, laws being passed in so many states, stories of harassment in online groups, and rollbacks on protections that felt hard-won. There’s an air of fear and terror.
What will it mean for you? For those you love? For your body, your rights, your well-being?
These are all valid questions, and they are also future-oriented. Meaning: for most trans folks, there isn’t an immediate answer to those things, and there is also not an immediate impact.
And when you attune to perceived threat—to something that might happen but hasn’t yet in your own personal world or to *your* body—your body lives in a constant state of stress, overwhelm, and activation.
Although it might feel as if this state of vigilance is readying you to take appropriate action, it’s actually depleting your capacity, your felt sense of safety, your lifeforce, your vitality, and your ability to connect, both to yourself and others.
It’s draining and keeps you disconnected from your power. And you, trans sibling, are so incredibly powerful. More than anything in this time, this truth is necessary and worth remembering.
This isn’t about denying or bypassing what’s happening in the world (it’s clear that these things are happening); it’s about understanding the impact it takes on your body to constantly feel unsafe and, for those who want to stay connected and in their power, to understand how to resource safety and groundedness more consistently in a time that is meant to instill fear and chaos.
You want to be part of a resistance? Stay connected to yourself and your power.
