A practical and empowering class designed for anyone who wants to explore or refine their dominant side in BDSM play.About this Event
How to Be a Dom is a practical and empowering class designed for individuals who want to explore or refine their dominant side in BDSM play. Whether you're brand new to the concept of domming or looking to sharpen your skills, this class offers a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where curiosity is celebrated. We'll start by unpacking myths and stereotypes about dominatrixes and dominance, and move into discussions about authentic power exchange, consent, and communication.
Through demonstrations, discussion, and optional hands-on exercises, you'll learn essential techniques such as voice and presence, basic bondage, impact play, and psychological dominance. We'll also cover scene negotiation, aftercare, and how to create fulfilling dynamics that honor your desires and those of your partner(s). This class prioritizes confidence-building, boundary-setting, and safety, so you can step into your dominance with clarity and creativity.
Whether your interest is playful, sensual, disciplinary, or all of the above, you'll leave with tools to express your unique flavor of dominance. Come as you are—curious, nervous, bold, or badass—and discover what being a Dom means for you. No partner or previous experience required. All genders are welcome to attend and learn!
About the Instructor: Goddess Mak is a kink educator, dominatrix and proud Black queer woman from Chicago. Her interest in kink began 15 years ago when she met a domme in a human sexuality seminar course. That interaction birthed a curiosity that would blossom into one of her greatest joys- being a Femme-Domme. She’s passionate about empowering women and creating spaces for them to learn, grow and heal together. She currently teaches how to use restraints at Sexploratorium kink tastings, leads a monthly women’s empowerment circle and educates kinksters on domme-ing and more.
All of our classes are intended for people 18 years of age and older. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot now!
