About this Event

How can UK universities respond to forced displacement and crises overseas?

The UK higher education sector has demonstrated considerable commitment in supporting students and institutions affected by conflict and displacement, from Ukraine to Afghanistan, Syria to Sudan. However, how can UK universities respond to forced displacement and crises in overseas contexts?

Responding to Global Crises: How can UK universities respond to displacement and crises overseas? is a one-day event focused on the role of UK higher education in addressing the global displacement and crises overseas through global partnerships and collaboration, hosted by Mosaik Education, Cormack Consultancy Group, and UNHCR.

What to Expect

Through panels and interactive discussions, attendees will hear from thought leaders and practitioners at UK universities, civil society, and UN agencies using global partnership and collaboration to expand access to higher education for overseas communities affected by displacement and crises. Key questions to be addressed include:

  • How can global partnerships, transnational education (TNE) and other collaboration models be used to respond to crises?
  • What are the challenges of continuing and accessing higher education for communities affected by displacement and crises overseas?
  • What support do UK universities need to expand and enhance their efforts to support communities affected by displacement and crises overseas?
  • How can responding to displacement and crises overseas help meet the civic missions and strategic goals of UK universities?

Who Should Attend

This conference is designed for university leaders working on international partnerships and global engagement, higher education sector representatives, civil society, and others with an interest in how UK universities can work overseas in response to displacement and crises.

This event will take place in London and will not be livestreamed online. Please only order a ticket if you can attend in-person.

The full agenda will be shared with attendees and on this page in the coming weeks.
