Join us as we spotlight local artists and raise awareness of our city's vibrant arts scene- in the name of charity! This pop-up exhibition will be the finale of Houston Art Weeks. Meet local artists, purchase one-of-a-kind art, and enjoy hospitality while giving back to our community.
On Saturday, October 18, from 9 am to 6 pm, the StellaNova Foundation will stage a pop-up art exhibition and sale at the Montrose Center. Works donated by Houston Art Weeks' participating artists, studios and galleries will be on display and available for purchase.
Net proceeds will benefit the StellaNova Foundation, a Houston-based 501(c)(3) organization funding mental health resources for those without access to treatment or care. During this inaugural installment of Houston Art Weeks, The StellaNova Foundation has designated the Montrose Center as the primary beneficiary of funds raised.
ABOUT HOUSTON ART WEEKS:
Houston Art Weeks Salutes Local Artists-
New citywide observance to benefit The StellaNova Foundation
Doug Harris, StellaNova Foundation’s executive director, says the primary goal of Houston Art Week is to stimulate awareness and patronage of Houston-based artists. “The depth, breadth, and growth of Houston’s art community is one of our city’s most notable cultural achievements. The purpose of Houston Art Weeks is to connect these artisans, along with the galleries and studios who serve them, with a new group of art enthusiasts and collectors,” he said.
Harris notes that events like the Bayou City Arts Festival and the Second Saturday observances make connections between artists and collectors accessible and less intimidating. “There are so many opportunities for serious collectors as well as the ‘art-curious’ to enjoy an up close, personal look at art, and those who bring it to life. If we can simplify the process of encountering art and discovering new artists, people will come to regard art as an ideal gift for both art novices and lifelong collectors.”
Artists and galleries who are interested in participating in Houston Art Weeks can join the cause with a registration fee of $15 and agreement to donate a percentage of sales during HAW to the Foundation. Registration closes on September 30, 2025. StellaNova will promote participants throughout media outreach and during marketing initiatives, along with presence on the Foundation's website and social media.
