About this Event
About
House of K.I.N.G.s is a creative Saturday school for young people that combines performing arts, leadership development, and life skills. Founded by Actively SeeK.I.N.G. CIC, the programme is designed to empower young Black men and boys from African, Caribbean, and mixed-heritage backgrounds to grow into confident leaders, creatives, and positive role models.
Guided by the values of Knowledge, Identity, Nurturer, and Gifts (K.I.N.G.s), students develop their talents in drama, spoken word, music, and movement while building confidence, cultural pride, and strong character.
Through a safe, inspiring environment and mentorship from positive role models, participants explore creativity, leadership, and real-world skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Students also have opportunities to perform, take part in community projects, and develop projects that address real-world issues.
The Saturday School (Booking covers all sessions from 18th April to 4th July)
During the Saturday School programme, students will work with industry professionals and creatives who guide them through hands-on workshops, creative development, and performance preparation.
Across the term, participants collaborate to learn, create, and present their ideas through the arts:
Term 1 – 18th April - 16th May
The Creative Pitch (Weeks 1–5)
Students develop their ideas, explore storytelling and creative expression, and learn how to shape and pitch their concepts through performing arts, leadership activities, and collaborative workshops.
Term 2 – 6th June - 4th July
Production & Performance (Weeks 6–10)
Students bring their ideas to life by working with creatives to rehearse, produce, and perform their work, building confidence, teamwork, and stage experience.
Please note there are no sessions on the 23rd and 30th May.
