About this Event
Join Espacio de Culturas in celebrating Día de los Trabajadores with a hands-on silk-screening workshop with Mobile Print Power and a pre-workshop celebration with NYU Mariachi Violetas
On select Fridays throughout the semester, we offer programs that are hands-on and interactive under the title of “Fridays on the Patio.” These programs are free and open to the public with registration. This event is in honor of Día del Trabajador, or Workers’ Day, and anticipates Cinco de Mayo by recognizing the importance of labor and the vital contributions of workers in our communities. In collaboration with Mobile Print Power, a collective that combines printmaking with political education, we invite you to silk-screen! Bring shirts, jackets, pants, cloth bags, other garments or paper you would like to customize using provided silk-screens.
Additionally, enjoy a pre-workshop, special “Friday on the Patio” celebration from 2:00 - 3:00 PM with a performance by NYU Mariachi Violetas and cake on our patio to celebrate our final FOTP event, Cinco de Mayo, and Día de los Trabajadores. The program with Mobile Print Power will then commence from 3:00 - 5:00 PM.
