About this Event
For 2026 ASCHB is building on its inimitable conference plenary sessions, and our long tradition of ‘Chatham House’ discussions. We believe that honest disclosure about what worked and what didn’t is the best way to develop good practice. So join us — online or in person — for the inaugural HONEST-2-GOODNESS event, an afternoon of short but provocative talks followed by a chaired session during which speakers and audience will have the opportunity to dig deeply into subjects of urgent interest to everyone involved in caring for the historic environment.
To encourage an open exchange of views HONEST-2-GOODNESS events will not be recorded: you will need to be in the room, physically or virtually, to be part of what promises to be a great afternoon.
Speakers include:
- Berenice Humphreys, Cliveden Conservation: Revisiting the West Front Wells Cathedral forty years on from Prof Baker, what are we learning about the long-term effects of the stone treatments used?
- Julian Harrap, Julian Harrap Architects: Testing conservation theory via project experience at the London Museum and beyond
- Rupert Cook, Miltiadou Cook Mitzman Design: Building Performance Regenerative Design
- Dr Robyn Pender, Whethergauge: The shaky theory behind membrane materials, including geotextiles (what could possibly go wrong?)
HONEST-2-GOODNESS 2026 will be held at The Gallery, 75 Cowcross Street London EC1M 6EL on Friday 15 May, from 14:30 until 18:00, with complementary drinks and nibbles and continued discussion until 19:00.
