About this Event
About this event
You don’t need a Risograph machine to make Risograph style prints! Learn how to use Riso stencil paper, a hacked fax machine, and a simple handmade cardboard frame to create a one-color postcard-size image! Learn about the history of stencil duplication, Risography, and Japanese mimeography, known as gariban. During this three hour workshop, participants will learn how to prepare art for stencils, get hands-on experience working with Riso stencil paper, and not only leave with copies of their own prints, but also the tools to create more prints on their own at home. Explore a whole new realm of printmaking you never knew existed! All skill levels welcome, no prior Risograph experience is necessary.
Please note: Masking is now encouraged, but optional in the studio space. Individuals who feel uncomfortable using the space with others unmasked, whether for health or any other reason, are welcome to request mask wearing while they are using the studio space.
