About this Event
Feeling dizzy yet? You may be after flying a boomer-plane, exploring the science of things that go round and round, and learn to engineer your own devices. With a whole host of activities to try, participants will find out why some things spin longer than others, why some go away and others come back and why some like to spin one way but not the other. They will engineer their own spinners and develop skills of scientific analysis to come out ‘top’ of the class.
With guest appearances from greats of the past, including Euler, the world’s coolest Rube Goldberg machine set to music and the chance to train for their own circus act, ‘In A Spin’ will have everyone skipping and spinning out the door.
‘In a Spin’ explores centripetal forces, gyroscopic effects and offers the chance to engage in fundamental engineering principles in an accessible and entertaining setting, opening minds to the science of the world around them and how it works.
This workshop is strictly for 12 - 14 year-olds.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
