Hitch with Hitchr | May

Ever wondered how far you could get with just your thumb?

Hitch with Hitchr is a one day hitchhiking challenge to race to a mystery destination. You'll join the Hitchr team and other adventurers for a challenge that puts your hitchhiking and problem-solving skills to the test.

• You’ll travel in teams of 2 or 3
• Everyone starts at the same time at London Waterloo Station
• Once outside of London, all travel must be by hitchhiking
• The destination is a mystery, revealed on the morning of the race
• It will be no more than a few hours away from the start point
• The first team to reach the destination wins bragging rights and eternal glory

All teams must track their journey using the Hitchr app. Your friends and family can follow along in real time via our live race map.

This event is:

• A fun and social challenge
• A chance to practise safe and responsible hitchhiking
• A great way to meet some new people and make some new friends

This event is not:

• A reckless free-for-all
• About breaking rules or cutting corners
• About who can spend the most money getting there

• Curious first-time hitchhikers
• Seasoned hitchers looking for a new challenge
• Anyone who enjoys travel, problem-solving and friendly competition

No prior hitchhiking experience required, just a sense of adventure and a willingness to talk to strangers.
