Established in 1867, the Halifax Public Gardens are one of the oldest Victorian Gardens in all of North America. Its history is deeply intertwined with Halifax and its brushes with colonialism, imperialism, racism, vigilante justice, reconciliation, and climate change. Join Colin Mitchell, a local historian and proud Nova Scotian, as he takes you through the tumultuous history of the Public Gardens and the challenges they face today.
