About this Event
As part of the Hidden Beach Summer of Culture, this special children’s event brings the beloved folk tale Tiddalik the Frog to life through live storytelling, immersive music, and participatory play.
Children and families are invited into a magical story world where music, rhythm, and imagination combine to retell the tale of Tiddalik — the thirsty frog who drinks all the water, and the animals who must work together to restore balance. Accompanied by Nightingale Music, the storytelling becomes a rich sensory experience, using sound, melody, and atmosphere to deepen engagement and spark creativity.
Following the story, families can enjoy a relaxed lunch break with food from Kitchen.HiddenBeach, offering nourishing, accessible options in a welcoming community environment.
The afternoon continues with a hands-on participatory music workshop, where children explore rhythm, sound, and playful instruments inspired by nature, water, animals, and the themes of the story. Young participants are encouraged to experiment, collaborate, and express themselves through music — building confidence, listening skills, and creative freedom.
This event supports early cultural engagement, imaginative learning, and family-friendly community experiences, aligning with Hidden Beach’s mission to create inclusive, joyful, and meaningful cultural moments. Themes of sharing, cooperation, environmental awareness, and storytelling run throughout the session, making it both entertaining and enriching.
Designed for children and families, Tiddalik at Hidden Beach offers a gentle, inspiring introduction to live performance, music-making, and collective storytelling — a perfect daytime experience within the wider Summer of Culture programme.
