About this Event
After the legendary Aba Shanti-I session in 2025, the mighty sound returns to the coast.
On Saturday 8th August, Aba Shanti-I brings the full sound system back to Horntye Park for another heavyweight session as part of Hidden Beach 2026 — carrying roots, culture, consciousness and pure vibration into one unforgettable night.
Last year’s session became one of those moments people still talk about — the bass rolling through the park, the crowd locked into the rhythm, the energy lifting higher and higher as the night unfolded. This year, the tradition continues.
Recognised worldwide as one of the most influential figures in sound system culture, Aba Shanti-I has been carrying roots, message and sound across the globe for over three decades. From his early days as Jasmine Joe on Jah Tubby’s sound system, to founding the legendary University of Dub, to producing music with Blood Shanti and the Shanti-Ites on the Falasha label, Aba has shaped not just a sound, but a culture.
Expect deep roots reggae and dub selections, heavy bass, soaring echoes, live effects and conscious lyrics that lift the spirit and move the body. The sound system becomes an instrument in itself — surrounding you, grounding you, and carrying you into a shared rhythm that connects dancers, listeners and heads into one collective experience.
As the sun sets over the park and the bass begins to roll, Horntye Park becomes a space of gathering, release and elevation. This is a session for dancers, selectors, seekers, elders, youth, heads and hearts — for anyone who wants to feel sound not just in their ears, but in their chest, their feet and their soul.
A return to the coast. A true master at the controls. Another night of roots, culture and vibration by the sea.
Come early. Stay late. Feel the sound.
