Discover Your Past and Tell Your Story
Every family has a story to tell — and this is your chance to discover and share yours!
Herefordshire’s budding young history enthusiasts are invited to explore their family’s past and bring it to life in a creative way.
The winner will be announced at Hereford History Day on Saturday 16 May.
What to Explore
Use your imagination and curiosity to uncover the things that make your family special. You might like to think about:
- Where does your family come from?
- Are there any traditions, celebrations or favourite activities you enjoy together?
- Do your parents, grandparents or carers have an interesting story to share?
- Can you bring to life an important moment from your family’s history?
Prizes to Be Won
Take part for the chance to win a prize and a cup for your school.
There are also runner‑up prizes kindly provided by Watkins Thomas.
Your Entry
How you present your family story is entirely up to you — be as creative as you like!
You could:
- write a short story
- make a poster
- draw a family tree
- or combine words and pictures in your own style
Your entry must fit on one sheet of A4 paper.
