Her Brush, Her Story: A Special Art Tour at the National Gallery of Art
Join us this March for a special event celebrating Women’s History Month at the National Gallery! This unique tour honors the extraordinary women who shaped the history of art — as artists, patrons, collectors, scholars, and advocates — and explores the museum’s collection through the lens of female creativity and expression.
From pioneering painters who defied societal expectations to the trailblazers who fought to secure women’s rightful place in museum collections, this 2-hour experience uncovers stories that are powerful, complex, and long overdue for recognition.
Women have always played a vital role in the creation, patronage, and preservation of art, yet their contributions have often been overlooked. Together, we will discover remarkable but lesser-known women artists, examine how women have been represented, idealized, and challenged across centuries, and explore the figures who pushed institutions to expand the canon.
This tour also coincides with the newly opened Mary Cassatt Exhibition, offering participants the opportunity to experience this important exhibition with richer historical context. It’s a wonderful moment to reflect on Cassatt’s legacy within the broader story of women in art.
Everyone is welcome to join this engaging and thought-provoking journey through the gallery. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the collection in a new and illuminating way.
We will be offering this as a Small Group Tour, limited to 15 people to ensure a thoughtful and intimate experience.
If this date fills up, we will offer a waitlist or may open an additional date.
You may also book this experience as a Private Tour — please contact us for details.

Throughout March, I will also be offering a 4-part lecture series on , exploring the evolution of women’s artistic voices across centuries. If you would like to continue the conversation beyond the galleries, I invite you to join one (or more!) of those sessions as well. (This lecture series starts March 3rd).
