About this Event
Hearts in Motion: Let’s Design Safer Parks Together
Everyone wants to feel safe in parks - especially young people.
When safety is a concern, it can limit how often youth and families use community spaces for physical activity.
Hearts in Motion is a youth-led community workshop that brings youth and community members together to explore the connection between park safety and physical activity, with a focus on emergency communication access. Participants will take part in interactive discussions and activities that highlight what helps parks feel safer, more welcoming, and more supportive of movement.
This session centers youth voice and lived experience, creating space to talk about safety concerns—such as how to get help in an emergency if you don’t have a phone and how communities can better support safe, active park use through shared understanding and dialogue.
