About this Event
The 90 voices of City Chorus, with professional soloists and orchestra, will give a performance of Joseph Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis (Mass for Troubled Times). Written in 1798, it quickly acquired the nickname “Nelson Mass” due to the British defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of the Nile that same year. City Chorus presents this wonderfully dramatic and energetic setting alongside a selection of movements from Handel’s Messiah and Brahms’s Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen from Ein deutsches Requiem.
