HACHIKU is the brainchild of German-Australian producer Anika Ostendorf, who writes and produces worldly indie rock with an alt-pop appeal alongside band members Jessie Warren (she/her; bass, BVs), Georgia Smith (they/she; guitar, BVs) and Simon Reynolds (he/him - drums). Through the release of their self-recorded and self-mixed EP Hachiku (2017) and critically acclaimed debut LP I’ll Probably Be Asleep (2020), Hachiku has steadily built a loyal global fan base hinged on catchy melodies, shimmering walls of sound, and their praised live performances. They have seen consistent support and acclaim from NPR’s All Songs Considered, Bandcamp, DIY Magazine, Clash Magazine and NME among others, and are continuously invited to support household names around the UK, Europe, U.S. and so-called-Australia including Courtney Barnett, Jen Cloher, The Breeders, José González, Snail Mail and more, including festival slots at Iceland Airwaves, SXSW and Melbourne Music Week. Ostendorf is also a frequent collaborator of Jen Cloher’s, co-producing their ARIA, AMP, AIR and Music Victoria-nominated fifth album I Am The River, The River Is Me (2023), and has landed syncs in the US including on Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls and Audi’s mysterious 13-minute ‘Led Balloon’ film commercial.

Panikattacken im Waschsalon, das aufgesetzte Lächeln einer Stewardess, queere Dates - die Inspiration für ihre Songs schöpft Juno Lee vorwiegend aus alltäglichen Beobachtungen und Erlebnissen. Verpackt in gitarrenlastigen Indie-Rock lädt sie uns in ihre Gefühlswelt ein.
Juno Lee ist gebürtige Berlinerin. 2019 fing sie an, auf der Straße und U-Bahnhöfen zu spielen - zwischen Taubenscheiße und motzendem Sicherheitspersonal. Ohne bisherige Veröffentlichungen, Label oder Bookingagentur folgten internationale Auftritte auf dem Sziget, c/o Pop, Jenseits von Millionen, Rocken am Brocken und Pop Kultur Festival.
Mit ihrer jüngst erschienen Debut EP „Laundry Days“ (VÖ 08.11.2024 via RAUFASER TONTRAEGER) wurde Juno Lee als Newcomerin der Woche bei DLF Kultur gefeiert und schaffte es auf Playlists von DIFFUS und dem Picky Magazin. „Radio mit K“ spielte ihre Debut Single „I´m Fine, Thank You“ und byte.fm lud sie zum Interview ein. An der Lichtung, an der Riot Grrrls und Barbies einen Handschlag tauschen, dröhnt Juno Lee aus dem Soundsystem.
