About this Event

About Our Show

This is the fourth annual Culture Show held by Georgetown’s Vietnamese Student Association, a multi-act play featuring various Vietnamese cultural performances.

In the 2025 Culture Show, we followed the life of young Thuy as she pursued her passion for art, trying her best to hide her growing burnout from her loving but concerned mother. After her mother’s passing, Thuy finds new meaning in her work but has more questions about her family than answers.

This year, we present the sequel to this story: Bay Về, Fly Home.

Without her mother’s guidance, an older Thuy yearns for connection with her late father. Thuy’s mother was shattered after he died, cutting contact with his family and friends, moving to a new city, and trying desperately to escape the grief by erasing his memory, including by never telling Thuy about how he died. Grief is a bitter creature. Now, Thuy embarks on a journey to learn about the things her mother hid from her. Will she successfully uncover the cause of her father’s death, or will his secrets be taken to the grave?
