About this Event
The first visit of the day is to Burncoose Nursery where we will learn more about camellias and hear about the preparations for showing them at Chelsea. The visit starts with tea/coffee and cake before a tour of Burncoose Gardens by Andrew Mills the Head Gardener. There will then be an opportunity to look round the Nursery before travelling to Trevince for a pasty lunch and our second visit of the day.
At Trevince we will learn from the owner, Richard Stone, about the history of the estate and their preparations for opening to the public. Richard and the Head Gardener, Colin, will take us on a tour of the gardens that are on a journey of restoration and reinvention. We’ll discover the 18th century Walled Garden, the Pond Garden, Shrubbery and the Wilderness Walk. Our day will finish with tea and cakes and a chance to ask questions.
Well behaved dogs are allowed in both gardens as long as kept on short leads
The gardens at Burncoose are accessible for those with limited mobility, as are parts of Trevince, with the exception for the Wilderness Walk and Shrubbery that are not suitable.
