In Attorneys General, Matthew Byars has players (different ones every time) generate improvised sound which they send through his board, which he captures, loops, and destroys. A partial list of collaborators includes Wendy Eisenberg, David Grubbs, Luke Stewart, Haley Fohr, Ian Williams, Zoh Amba, Susan Alcorn, Ryley Walker, Shane Parish, Tara Cunningham, Kramer, Alan Licht and for this night Tara Clerkin Trio !
Tara Clerkin Trio are Pat Benjamin ( keys ) Sunny Joe Paradisos (drums ) and Tara Clerkin ( vocals / clarinet / sampler ). Three musicians involved in a number of cult Bristol bands over the years before confidently settling down in triangle formation..They are inspired by and borrow from jazz, trip hop, electronica & minimalism, twirling the non-pretentious strands of these threads together whilst blurring the lines between live performance, synthesis, and meticulous studio construction. Following their self-titled 2020 debut, the trio released two acclaimed mini-albums, In Spring (2021) and On The Turning Ground (2023) on World of Echo. Their upcoming Somewhere Good LP marks their most fully realised work.
GARETH SAGER X MARCUS JEFFREY
——————————————————
Gareth Sager is a founding member of highly influential The Pop Group from Bristol. One of post-punk’s most relentlessly evolutionary and antagonistic groups, blending dub funk and punk for the first time. He was also co founder of Rip Rig + Panic with Neneh Cherry and Andi Oliver ; a cult avant punk jazz outfit who also collaborated with the likes of Nico / Ari Up and Don Cherry plus even appeared on an episode of The Young Ones. RR+P later turned into Float Up CP releasing more music under a different sound. He later helped form another Bristol band - Head and enjoyed more collaboration with The Flying Lizards / Jock Scot / Geoff Barrow and many others. In a solo capacity, as CC Sager, Pregnant and as Gareth Sager respectively, his work has been championed and collated by Glasgow institution and John Peel favourite Creeping Bent.
Drummer and multi instrumentalist Marcus Jeffrey has been a stalwart of the Bristol underground for many years now. Always bringing concise but innovative ideas to the table, he has played in cult local bands like Minor Conflict / Iceman Furniss Qrt and Bert Ussher and now engineers for legendary Bristol venue The Louisiana plus helps run its basement studio
UNINTENTIONALLY
