Growing Caribbean Herbs with Brandon Ruiz from
Discover the joy of cultivating Caribbean herbs right at home—whether in a garden bed or a simple pot. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the traditions, uses, and growing techniques of herbs commonly found across the Caribbean.
What You’ll Learn & Experience:
🌱 How to grow and care for herbs in urban settings
🌿 Traditional uses and cultural significance of Caribbean herbs
🪴 Planting session—each participant takes home a pot with seeds we plant together
🌼 Extra seeds to continue your herb garden at home
All materials will be provided, including soil, pots, and seeds for 3–4 herbs such as Cerasee (Bitter Melon), Guinea Hen W**d (Anamu), and other easy-to-grow plants perfect for city living.
Come ready to dig in, learn, and connect with the rich herbal traditions of the Caribbean. Leave with your own starter plants and the knowledge to keep them thriving. Long time plant lovers, city dwellers looking to cultivate a green thumb, and parents looking to share a love of nature with their kids, all are welcome to this workshop.
