About this Event
Learn basic bonsai techniques to start transforming plants into bonsai. Learn why it is important to have a good soil mix, root-prune, repot, and choose the right angles when repotting. Take this knowledge home and apply it to other plants as well.
In this class we will work on the Jabuticaba also known as 'Jeb' (here at the bonsai shop).
I'm 'Jeb' the Jabuticaba Tree, perhaps the most popular fruit-bearing tree native to Brazil. The bark is smooth, with a mottled creamy tan and reddish hue, known for its grape-like fruits that mysteriously grow on the trunk when mature. These berries are used to make jams, juice, and wines. Keep me in full to part-sun and indoor temperatures above 50F. Water by submerging every 5-7 days.
This class is for beginners to intermediate.
TOTAL SEATS: 6
Materials Provided: one bonsai tree, one handmade bonsai planter in speckled white or midnight black, soil, decorative rocks, necessary tools for repotting. Other materials on site available for purchase.
