We are taking our fashion life drawing series to the heart of Soho. After two popular Blitz sessions, we’ve secured a space at the legendary Groucho Club for this special Part III event. This is your chance to sketch authentic 80s subculture in the very rooms where that history was made.

The Groucho Club has always been the natural successor to the Blitz. Founded in 1985 as an alternative to the stuffy, traditional gentleman’s clubs of the era, it became the primary hangout for the original Blitz Kids as they moved from the dance floor to the forefront of the creative industries. Figures like Stephen Jones, Boy George, and Spandau Ballet didn't just visit the Groucho; they were part of the fabric of the place. By bringing our session here, we are returning these iconic looks to their spiritual home in London’s creative underground.

We are working alongside the legendary Fiona Dealey, an original Blitz Kid whose career defined the visual language of the 80s. From designing the iconic hats in David Bowie’s "Ashes to Ashes" video to styling Sade for her debut at Ronnie Scott’s, Fiona doesn’t just reference this era; she lived it, shaped it, and continues to curate its legacy today.

For this session, we are featuring rare Blitz looks recreated specifically for the Blitz Immersive film at the Design Museum. These are not costumes. They are archival recreations of fashion history.

Whether you are a professional illustrator or a complete beginner, all levels are welcome. We provide all the necessary materials, including boards, paper, and charcoal.

What you can expect during the session:

There will be light guidance for anyone who feels stuck, nervous or uninspired in the first half, and in the second half of the session you'll have longer poses where the host will step back so that everyone can draw as they wish at their own pace.
We recommend this session for all levels, if this is something you've been meaning to try and have been nervous to get into - this is your perfect opportunity!
