Join Essex-based filmmaker George Morgan for an exciting, hands-on filmmaking workshop in South Ockendon where you can discover how to make powerful short films using only your smartphone.
With George’s expert guidance, you’ll learn essential storytelling, shooting, and editing techniques, as well as insider tips and hacks that will help you bring your ideas to life.
Perfect for young adults and adults alike, this workshop will teach you how to maximize your smartphone’s potential, plus explore affordable tools and tech that take your filmmaking to the next level. No experience required – but bring your passion and creativity!
This workshop is brought to you by Arts Outburst.
It is suitable for those aged 14+. Please bring your own smartphone and charger, and ensure you have enough storage either on the device or on a cloud platform.
Accessibility
Outside: The road leading to the church is considered flat. There is a car park outside but with limited spaces. If you do not require on-site parking, please consider parking on the off roads where there are no parking restrictions.
There is level access into the venue.The main doors open towards you (pull).
There is a ramp to access the church. The permanent ramp is located in front of the entrance and there is a level landing at the top of the ramp.
Inside: There is level access to the church. There is a hearing assistance system.
Motorised scooters are welcomed in public parts of the venue. There is a disabled toilet available for the public.

Getting There
By Train: Nearest train station is South Ockendon (33 minute walk / 1.5 miles away.) From there, take a walk (1 mile / 23 minutes) to the bus stop on Elan Road and take the 22 towards Aveley and get off at Bus Stop Easington Way and walk for 5 minutes.
By Bus: Routes 22 will stop on Easington Way which is 0.2 miles / 5 minute walk away
By Car: There is a small car park on-site which is recommended for people who will need on-site parking only such as people with low mobility, a disability and/or with children. If this is full, please use adjacent streets where there are no parking restrictions. However, please be mindful that this is a residential area and not to park in front of or drives.
Alternatively, we encourage you to use public transport where possible.
