About this Event

Join visual artist Zareena Bano for a vibrant Truck Art workshop celebrating the vibrant culture of Pakistan and South Asia through the lens of its iconic truck art!

Truck art is a unique and intricate form of expression that transforms everyday vehicles into moving masterpieces, showcasing bold colours, elaborate patterns, and cultural symbols.

In this hands-on session, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in this rich artistic tradition by learning about its history, cultural significance, and design techniques and create your own mini truck art-inspired pieces.

This session promises fun, creativity, and cultural discovery.

The workshop is suitable for all ages. No experience necessary.

Please bring clothes which you don’t mind getting paint on and that are suitable for going outside.

Sessions are scheduled to last one hour, but you can stay longer if they wish.

Accessibility

Outside: The venue has a ramp leading towards the main door which opens automatically. The doors are double width.

Inside: There is level access to the service and motorised scooters are welcomed in public parts of the venue.

Getting There:

By Train: The nearest railway station is South Ockendon which is a 30 minute walk from the venue. Alternatively you can get the 370 bus service to Ford Place, and then the 22 bus service to Fairham Avenue. This is 0.2 miles from the venue and approximately a four minute walk.

By Bus: The nearest bus stop is on Fairham Avenue which is served by bus route 22. This is 0.2 miles from the venue and approximately a four minute walk.

By Car: The venue has a small car park and some parking is available on nearby roads. Please be mindful when parking not to block driveways.

Zareena Bano is a visual artist who has been involved in a diverse range of work for more than two decades.

Renowned for her versatility and innovation, Zareena’s work merges the rich traditions of SouthA Asian design with contemporary artistic expression, creating pieces that are both culturally evocative and modern. Using mixed media as her primary medium, she skilfully incorporates vibrant patterns, intricate details, and bold colour palettes, resulting in striking works of art that captivate and inspire.

She enjoys working with different communities, sharing her passion, joy and knowledge of art, exposing talents of local people and provoking people to succeed in life. She like to encourage people to express themselves, to exchange creatively and interact with each other.
