Are you an artist or cultural worker interested in strengthening your approach to public arts funding? This interactive workshop offers guidance for those looking to navigate grant applications with more confidence and clarity.

Facilitated by Mary Ann S. Anderson of Little Dog Creative Consulting, the session will explore key aspects of effective grant writing, including aligning your work with funders' priorities, clearly communicating your ideas, and avoiding common mistakes. Participants will gain practical insights applicable to funding programs such as the Canada Council for the Arts, the BC Arts Council, and others. The workshop will also feature a short introduction to SmartGrant, a recently developed tool for grant research.
Mary Ann brings over 30 years of experience in arts administration and fundraising, including 12 years overseeing the municipal grant program in North Vancouver, as well as extensive work supporting artists and cultural organizations across Canada.
Presented as part of Punto de Encuentro, VLACC’s professional development series for Latin American artists and cultural workers.
