About this Event
As part of Nakba Week, The Jerusalem Fund is pleased to host a screening of Grandmothers Share Their Stories: Palestine, a moving oral history documentary directed by Peggy Fleming. The film brings viewers into the homes and memories of three Palestinian grandmothers — Claudette Habesch, Zuhdiyeh Abu Ghoush, and Fawziyeh Al-Kurd — as they reflect on their lives across the last eighty years.
First interviewed in 2009 and revisited in 2025 as the film was brought to life, these women offer deeply personal testimony on family, memory, place, and the endurance of Palestinian life across generations.
Following the screening, director Peggy Fleming and producer Nada Nassereddin will join us for a discussion on the making of the film, the importance of oral history, and what it means to preserve memory through conversation, testimony, and film.
This program is part of The Jerusalem Fund’s continuing commitment to education, culture, and the preservation of Palestinian history and lived experience.
Doors will open at 6:00 PM for a light reception with drinks and sweets. The program will begin shortly thereafter, followed by discussion and audience Q&A.
