About this Event
This is a 60-minute, immersive sound experience centered around a 36” gong - an instrument most people have never encountered at this scale. The gong is so much more than just the big “bong” sound you might imagine. It’s a vast field of vibration: waves, overtones, silences, drones and sudden openings that move through the body as much as the ears.
As a professional musician, I approach this as a deep listening ritual. A space where sound supports rest, release, and nervous system recalibration. The gong can be gentle and grounding, or intense and expansive. Often it is all of these within the same session.
What to expect
- Gong bath - You’ll be lying down, allowing the sound to wash through you. Some people experience deep relaxation, others vivid imagery, emotional release, or clarity. You can enjoy the bath, meditate or engage in gentle, self-guided stretching. All pair well with the offering.
- Toning - there are moments during the session where I will tone, sing or hum. In those moments, feel free to join, if you feel inspired.
- Integration / (optional) - SharingTo reflect on the experience, and share with the community anything that might come up.
What to bring
Yoga mat (a thick one, or perhaps two - it is the only thing between your body and a hardwood floor for an hour. Extra mats, blankets and bolsters are available also)
Optional: pillow, blanket, eye mask or cover
Wear comfortable clothing
