Goh Ballet Academy Junior Competition Audition 2026/27

We welcome all Goh students born in or before 2020 to audition for the chance to represent Goh Ballet at esteemed local and international competitions. Participation in the 2026/27 Competition Season provides students the opportunity to showcase their technical and artistic abilities while building confidence performing on stage.

Additionally, we welcome Goh Ballet Students ages 10+ to audition for the Goh Ballet Artistic Development Grant, presented by Goh Ballet Canada Society. Grants awarded may be used for private competition coaching and are designated to support your dance aspirations as well as recognize dedication in your continued dance journey. To be considered for this grant, you must also purchase the related ticket.

• Local Competitions: All dancers must participate in at least 1 of the following Summer Programs at Goh Ballet: Ballet and Beyond Session 1, Ballet and Beyond Session 2, and/or Passion and Precision.
• International Competitions: All dancers must participate in at least 2 of the following Summer Programs at Goh Ballet: Ballet and Beyond Session 1, Ballet and Beyond Session 2, and/or Passion and Precision.
• All dancers must participate in the 2027 RAD Graded Examinations.

Audition #1: 16:45-17:45 PM

• Birth Year 2016 - 2020 (solos, duos, trios, group dance, masterclasses)
• Students must be currently enrolled in Pre-Primary, Primary, A1, A2, or A3 of the 2025/26 Annual Programs

Audition #2: 18:00 - 19:45 PM

• Birth Year 2014 - 2015 (solos, duets, trios, group dance, masterclasses)
• Birth Year 2013+ (duets, trios, and group dance consideration, local competitions only)
• Students must be currently enrolled in A4, A5, A6, J1, J2 or PRIMA of the 2025/26 Annual Programs.

Auditions are required for all students wishing to be considered for one or more select competitions in the categories of: Solo(s), Variation(s), Duos, Trios, Groups, and Masterclasses. International Competitions are only available to dancers born in or before 2017.

• Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) - Seattle, USA (January 2027)
• Festival du Ballet - Surrey, BC (February 2027)
• Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) - Toronto, Canada (March 2027)
• Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC) - New York, USA (March 2027)
• Surrey Festival of Dance - Surrey, BC (April 2027)
• Universal Ballet Competition (UBC) - Location TBA

Girls

• Any Color Leotard
• Ballet Tights
• Canvas Split Sole Ballet Slippers
• Short Skirt (if desired)
• Pointe Shoes (if applicable)
• Hair in a classical ballet bun

Boys

• Any Color Leotard and Tights
• White Mid-Calf Socks
• White Canvas Split-Sole Ballet Slippers

• Arrival Time: 30 minutes prior to the start of the audition (Front Door)
• Pick-Up Time: 10-15 minutes after the end of the audition (Side Door)
• Results will be provided by the first week of June
• A non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your place in the competition(s)
• Private Coaching may begin as early as Summer 2026
  

Please note that this event is non-refundable, non-transferable. There will be no makeup auditions with the exception of those who are unable to participate on May 16 due to a medical reason, doctor's note must be provided.
