Please join us on our South Campus as we celebrate the long-awaited completion of the new Girls Program Academic Building. Come explore the beautiful new space and help us mark this exciting milestone for French Broad River Academy!
The event begins at 2 p.m. with student-led tours of the new building, followed by remarks at 2:30 p.m. from local dignitaries and FBRA representatives, and the official ribbon cutting. Local officials, students, faculty and board members, past and current families, alumni, and FBRA friends and neighbors are all invited to attend the celebration.
The new building is the result of the generosity, dedication, and hard work of so many. Our heartfelt thanks to the donors, volunteers, and construction team who made it possible. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This exciting new project establishes an expanded and permanent home for FBRA’s Girls Program on the 3.3-acre riverside campus just north of downtown Asheville. It is the latest phase of growth for the middle school founded in 2009 that combines rigorous academics with learning through outdoor adventure, service, and travel.
The project includes a new academic building with space for classrooms, an assembly and performance area, an art room, teacher workspace, and administrative offices. The school has teamed with Beverly Grant, Red House Architects, and Civil Design Concepts to implement best practices for sustainable design and energy efficiency for the project. The new building replaces modular classroom units and anchors the school’s South Campus, which also includes outdoor learning spaces, the Maria Noakes Outdoor Center, and easy access to the French Broad River.
