About this Event
“More of the good, less of the bad.” That’s the motto upon which Underground Springhouse have built their sound and style. Exploring southern rock, indie, and reggae influences within a rock ‘n roll context, Springhouse has crafted a genre-bending catalog that takes listeners from beaches to back roads with ear-worm hooks and head-bobbing grooves.
Since releasing their debut, self-titled album, “Underground Springhouse” (2021), the band has played over 100 shows each year. Through this relentless touring, Springhouse’s members have honed their musical craft alongside one another, maturing into the kind of cohesive, distinctive group that forms when bandmates spend countless hours on stage together. As the band’s musicality has evolved, so has their songwriting craft. This evolution can be heard in the releases that have followed their debut LP, which include an EP, two full length live albums, and numerous singles.
Now the band is ready to showcase the next step in their musical progression with the release of their second studio LP, “A Noise Without A Name.” Recorded at Standard Electric Recorders Co. in Atlanta during the fall of 2025, this new album represents another shift for the band. While much of the group’s previous material was developed through live performances, this album features 10 brand new songs written specifically for the studio, none of which were performed live prior to their recording. The influence of the studio space on this release cannot be overstated, as many of the tracks showcase instruments and equipment previously unavailable to the band, including rare guitars, vintage synthesizers, and analog processors.
“A Noise Without A Name” also marks the first ever studio recording with the newest member of Underground Springhouse, drummer AJ Covey, whose understated yet sophisticated style behind the kit and world percussion expertise bring each song to life. Additionally, the album exhibits the lead vocal debut of members Mitch Davidson and Max Motley, adding another fresh layer to the release. Dedicated Springhouse listeners needn’t fret however, as the band’s classic sound is alive and well across several songs penned by longtime songwriting contributors Charlie Haas and Jackson Thompson. The band’s effort at recording each song through live tracking also helps maintain the spontaneous and conversational nature that fans of the group’s live shows have come to expect.
“A Noise Without A Name” will be released on May 1st, and is to be preceded in release by three singles, “13 Days” (March 20th), “I’m A Couch” (April 3rd), and “The Sparrow” (April 17th). The album, along with each single, will be available on all streaming platforms, as well as on compact disc. In a first for Underground Springhouse, the album will also be available on limited edition vinyl, which fans will have the option to pre-order so that they may guarantee they will receive a copy.
