Game Knight will host a Warhammer 40,000 tournament on May 30th in cooperation with the International Tournament Circuit and the Tabletop Elite Open! Information about the ITC may be found here: https://www.frontlinegaming.org/community/frontline-gamings-independent-tournament-circuit/ The TEO's site is here: https://tabletopeliteopen.com/ This will be our FINAL tournament under 10th edition rules! Warhammer 40k's eleventh edition is due to launch in June. By popular demand of the local player base, please note this event will be played at 1000 points.
Format:
-$16.00 entry fee. All proceeds from the entry fee will be used to fund prize support and buy pizza for the players.
-The tournament will be played in three rounds of two hours each using Swiss pairings.
-All rounds will be played using 1000 point lists. Lists are due to Game Knight via upload to Best Coast Pairings, Facebook message, or e-mail by 8:00pm the Thursday prior to the tournament to permit vetting.
-All 10th edition rules current at the time of the tournament will be legal! We're sending off the edition (and doubt much new material is going to come out between now and then anyway), so use it if you've got it. :)
-The tournament will adhere to the latest FAQs for the game; these may be found here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/downloads/warhammer-40000/
-Updated points costs and Grand Tournament mission rules in the Chapter Approved tournament pack and the revised Munitorum Manual are in force.
-Matched play rules are in force. Armies must adhere to the army construction rules laid out beginning on page 55 of the Core Rules of the game.
-Missions are from the Chapter Approved Tournament Companion and will be announced soon.
-Painting and basing your models is highly encouraged, but we do not remove eligibility for prize support for not doing so. Note that having a fully painted army is worth 10 victory points in the mission per the Grand Tournament rules pack. However, What You See Is What You Get to a reasonable standard is required.
-We do not use Sportsmanship scores. Our events are small enough that the tournament organizer and store staff can monitor games. Repeated incidents of poor sportsmanship, defined as being verbally abusive, physically aggressive, more than 15 minutes late for a round, or knowingly cheating on a rule, will result in sanctions up to and including ejection from the tournament.
Schedule: Doors open at 10:00 Eastern Daylight Time for registration and check-in. Dice drop no later than 11:00, or earlier if we're organized and the tables are full before then. The shop nominally closes at 6:00, so we will allow a 30 minute break between the first and second rounds and 15 minutes between second and third. If we run over time, we can accommodate.
