Gallery Goes . . . to Dingle Literary Festival brings together a selection of poets for an unforgettable night of readings and literary exploration. Enjoy powerful and moving readings from Alvy Carragher, Molly Twomey and Grace Wilentz. Alvy Carragher grew up by the River Shannon in Galway and Tipperary and has since lived in Louisiana, Dublin, South Korea, and Canada. She is currently based in Dublin. Her previous collections, Falling in love with broken things (2016) and The men I keep under my bed (2021), were published by Salmon Poetry. She has also published a children’s novel, The Cantankerous Molly Darling (2019). She is a recipient of an Arts Council Literary Bursary and has an MA in Writing from the University of Galway. Her latest collection is What Remains the Same.
Molly Twomey grew up in Lismore, County Waterford, and graduated in 2019 with an MA in Creative Writing from University College Cork. Her first collection, Raised Among Vultures, was published in 2022 by The Gallery Press. It won the Southword Debut Collection Poetry Award, was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Poetry Prize for Best First Collection, and the Farmgate National Poetry Award. An awardee of an Arts Council Literature Bursary, Molly Twomey was also the recipient of the 2023 Ireland Chair of Poetry Bursary.
Grace Wilentz was born in New York City and grew up in Greenwich Village. She is a graduate of Harvard University, with postgraduate degrees from Oxford University and University College Dublin. Her first collection, The Limit of Light, was published in 2020 by The Gallery Press. It was named as one of the best books of the year by both the Irish Times and the Irish Independent. She is a recipient of a Next Generation Artist Award from the Arts Council and is currently the inaugural Writer-in-Residence at Notre Dame in Dublin. Her new collection, Harmony (Unfinished) was published in October 2024.
