This course is suitable for anybody who is involved or participates in sport, ie coaches, parents,teachers, physical activity leaders etc.About this Event
This Basic Sports First Aid course is aimed at anyone involved with any sports team, whether you are a coach, player, teacher, volunteer or parent. This course will give particular attention to applying information to sport specific scenarios and will incorporate real life situations in a club setting context.
On full completion of the course, participants will receive a Basic First Aid Certificate (Valid for 2 years)
Course Content:
- How to perform CPR and how to use an AED ( Automated External Defibrillator)
- Choking (adult, child and a baby)
- Musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, strains and wound management)
- Chain of survival
- Epilepsy
- Strain /Sprains, Dislocations
- Hypothermia, Hyperthermia, Shock from Injury
- Asthma, Diabetes, Fainting
- Fractures (Greenstick /Open /Closed fracture/Compound, How to recognise it, How to splint it)
- Wounds (Cuts wounds, Bleeding, How to stop bleeding)
This course is suitable for participants aged 18 yrs +
Cost: €50 plus booking fee
Time: 10:00 am-4:00 pm
Note: Please bring a lunch with you. Teas and coffees will be provided.
