Gæðastund á Listasafni Íslands við Fríkirkjuveg 7Leiðsögn sérfræðings um sýninguna Þetta er mjög stór tala (Commerzbau) sem var framlag Íslands á Feneyjatvíæringnum árið 2024 en verður nú á Listasafni Íslands. Hildigunnur er kunn fyrir að gefa hinu smáa gaum í listsköpun sinni og varpa gagnrýnu ljósi á hnattræn framleiðslu- og dreifingarkerfi, sem og hið undarlega lífshlaup varningsins sem þessi kerfi skapa. Í verkum sínum dregur hún athyglina að litlum, einnota hlutum sem gjarnan eru fjöldaframleiddir fylgifiskar neyslumenningarinnar: umbúðum, verðmiðum, merkingum og útstillingareiningum. Hún fær þessum hlutum nýtt hlutverk en gildi þeirra og merking gjörbreytist þegar komið er út fyrir hið upprunalega samhengi þeirra.
Gæðastundir eru viðburðir sem ætlaðir eru eldri borgurum. Viðburðirnir eru samsettir úr sérsniðnum leiðsögnum og spjalli við sérfræðinga safnsins um myndlist, yfirstandandi sýningar og starfsemi.

Quality Moments at the National Gallery of Iceland at Fríkirkjuvegur 7
Specialist led tour about the exhibition That’s a Very Large Number (Commerzbau). The exhibition was commissioned for the Icelandic Pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2024, but will now be at the National Gallery of Iceland.
Hildigunnur is known for her nuanced artistic practice, which looks critically at the worldwide systems of production and distribution and the strange lives of the products they create. Her works draw attention to the small, disposable objects that are often the mass-produced accessories of material culture: packing materials, price tags, signage, and systems of display. She casts these objects in new roles, changing their value and meaning entirely as they are experienced outside of their original function.
The events calendar is aimed at senior citizens and is composed of specially designed tours as well as discussions with the museum´s experts on fine art, ongoing exhibitions and the work of the National Gallery of Iceland. The events create opportunities for guests to approach art and our national heritage from different perspectives.
The National Gallery´s Quality Moments events are always accompanied by coffee and pastries. The pastries are contributed by Kaktus Espressobar which sponsors the project.
