About this Event

Navigating funding as an artist can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be. This 2-hour session is designed to demystify the world of grants, funding streams, and financial opportunities available to artists at different stages of their careers.

As part of the HAPPENING series, this workshop brings together practical knowledge, real-world insights, and accessible tools to help you confidently pursue funding for your creative practice. In collaboration with StreetARToronto, we’ll explore a range of opportunities—from public art commissions and municipal funding to grants from arts councils, foundations, and community-based programs.

Participants will gain:

  • A clear overview of available funding streams (local, national, and international)
  • Guidance on how to identify the right opportunities for your work
  • Tips for writing strong grant applications and artist statements
  • Insight into budgeting, timelines, and common application pitfalls
  • Space for questions, shared experiences, and peer learning

Whether you’re an emerging artist or looking to expand your funding strategy, this session offers grounded, practical support to help sustain and grow your artistic practice.

Come ready to learn, ask questions, and connect with a community of artists navigating similar paths.

Duration: 2 hours
Format: Interactive workshop + Q&A
Who it’s for: Artists, creatives, and cultural workers seeking funding knowledge and support
