GLGPS is pleased to welcome Dr. Carlos Canales, Psy.D., CGP, SEPTM, AGPA Fellow, License Clinical Psychologist, to present our next GLGPS fall conference!
Through didactic and experiential learning, this workshop will advocate for more somatic awareness, tracking, and utilization to support regulated, congruent, grounded, and centered embodied interactions.
This event offers participants an opportunity to learn through their own experience in a group. This type of work is experiential and may feel emotionally intense at times, which can be both challenging and transformative.
Dr. Carlos Canales, Psy.D., CGP, SEPTM, AGPA Fellow, License Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Carlos Canales, Psy.D. is a bilingual/bicultural licensed Clinical Psychologist in full-time private practice in West Des Moines, Iowa. He is a Certified Group Psychotherapist, an American Group Psychotherapy Association-Fellow, and a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. Dr. Canales specializes in working with affect, the body, and relational dynamics. He has worked in multiple university counseling centers, hospitals, and community mental health centers. In 2011, he opened his private practice and in 2019 he founded Vida Psychotherapy, an outpatient group practice.
