🎬 Building a Career in Content Creation (Without Going to University)
A Talk with Oli Kane

What if you didn’t take the traditional route — and it still worked?

In this honest and motivating talk, local videographer Oli Kane shares his real-world journey into content creation, proving that passion, persistence, and practice can build a career without a university degree.

From picking up a camera at just 16 to becoming Cambridge United’s club videographer during one of the most exciting chapters in the club’s recent history — including promotion to League One and the unforgettable 2022 FA Cup run — Oli has carved out a career by saying yes to opportunities and learning on the job.

Now founder of SortedContent, a Cambridgeshire-focused content creation agency, Oli brings first-hand insight into working in sport, building a portfolio, and turning creativity into a profession.

What the Talk Covers:

  • Oli’s journey into videography without formal training
  • Working in football, action sports, and branded content
  • Lessons learned from real-world projects (and mistakes)
  • Practical advice for aspiring creators
  • Open Q&A — ask anything about content, careers, or confidence
