Friends of Grand Rapids Parks is updating the Adopt-A-Park Program! Now called the Park Stewardship Program, we’re piloting a community-based model for stewarding Grand Rapids City Parks. The goal of the Friends of Aberdeen Park group is to empower the community to engage with the park in a way that adds value to the existing park resources. In collaboration with Creston Neighborhood Association, we’ll be coordinating park events focusing on the following (or similar) activities:
• Invasive species removal
• Tree planting
• Curb appeal beautification
• Trash clean-up from natural areas
We aim to create a welcoming, fun way for folks to get involved, and work together with other neighbors who all care about Aberdeen Park!
Current Partners: Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, Creston Neighborhood Association, the City of Grand Rapids
